Paste one address
into your app.

Your assistant cannot do this bit for you: no app lets a conversation change its own settings. You do it once and never again.

Which app are you using?

  1. Open your connector settings

    On the web: Settings, then Connectors. In the desktop app: Customize, then the + beside Connectors. Cowork uses the same connector settings, so these are the steps there too.

  2. Add a custom connector

    Name it Victano, paste the address above, and leave every authentication field empty.

  3. Go back to your chat and say this

Two things catch people out. On the free plan Claude allows exactly one custom connector, so remove the other one first if you have one. And Claude connects from Anthropic’s servers rather than your laptop, so your VPN and firewall are not involved.

  1. Turn on developer mode

    Settings, then Security and login, then Developer mode. OpenAI has moved this more than once: if it is not there, look under Settings, Connectors, Advanced.

  2. Create the connector

    Settings, then Connectors, then Create. Name it Victano, paste the address above, authentication none.

  3. Go back to your chat and say this

Not on the free plan. Custom connectors need Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education. If you are on the free plan no amount of looking will find the menu, and Claude’s free plan does allow one connector if you would rather not pay to try us.

Cursor takes an install link. This opens Cursor with the server already filled in.

Then say Victano is connected. Set up my account. in the chat, and it will ask for your email from there.

One command, then carry on in the same session.

Claude Code can also do the whole thing itself. Paste the prompt from the front page and it will run this, ask for your email, and store the key.

Almost every other client wants the same address, in one of three shapes.

Zed
Settings, AI, MCP Servers, Add Server, Add Remote Server.
VS Code
Command palette, MCP: Add Server, the HTTP option. It writes .vscode/mcp.json for you.
Goose
goose configure, then Add Extension, Remote Extension (Streaming HTTP).
Windsurf, Gemini CLI
An mcpServers entry named victano, type http.
Codex
TOML rather than JSON: [mcp_servers.victano] with url.
Raycast
Install MCP Server, transport HTTP, then the URL. Headers and OAuth are optional and this server needs neither.
Mistral Le Chat
Connectors, then Custom MCP Connector, then the server URL, with authentication left empty. Custom connectors are on the paid plans only, so a free account will not see the option.

Choose the remote or HTTP option, never a local or stdio one. Victano is a hosted server, not a package to install.

You should get a number, not an apology. If it says it has no such tool, the connector did not save.

It can search for you straight away: 5000 questions a day with no account. It asks for your email when you want to keep a profile, read a notice's documents or get the daily brief.

Still not connecting?

These apps move their menus without warning, and when they do this page is wrong until somebody tells us. You are not doing it wrong. Write to [email protected] with the app you are using and what you see, and during the Founding Beta you will get a person rather than a ticket number.
